March into Spring!

Turning Pages, the picture book autobiography by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is a New York Times Bestseller and a Today Show feminist book. Also released in a Spanish version titled Pasando Páginas, the title was also honored as a Notable Social Studies 2019 Book!

The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, has extended the show The Art of Turning Pages until April 7, 2019. Beautifully curated, the show addresses the museum-goer in English and Spanish. Children will enjoy crafting paper boats and write the dreams for their futures on them. Then kids pin their boats on the wall next to the image of young Sonia in her own paper boat. Entrance is free.

I’m thrilled to share that the art of Us, in Progress: Short Stories About Young Latinos has been juried into a national art exhibit. Freedom: Art as the Messenger will be run from Thursday, April 11 to June 14, 2019 at the Cato Institute in Washington, DC. The latest honors for the title are:
