Welcome! ~ ¡Bienvenidos!
You know, it gives me great pleasure to spend time with kids in the joyful discovery of the world of books! At the many family workshops I conduct I've seen children come up with terrific verses and works of art in response to the prompt "I love my mom to..." "Amo a mi mamá hasta..." after learning about the creative process behind How Far Do You Love Me?
I am thrilled that this book, a Latinidad Best Latino Book for 2013, was recently added to the 2014 USBBY list to celebrate International Children's Book Day on April 2nd. And by April 30 we'll be celebrating, Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros. It is an occasion in which many libraries and schools have special programs in honor of children and books. We can all take this day—or the whole month!—as an excuse to curl up with a child and READ!
Arrorró mi niño for the mother-to-be and the littlest angels!
Jay and Ben for children 3-6, specially if they like interacting books!
The Storyteller’s Candle for children ages 7-9, specially if they are into history!
Salsa Stories for your children ages 9-11, specially if they like to learn about other peoples' traditions and/or cook!
Alicia Afterimage for teens 14-16 and/or those who’ve been touched by the death of a loved one.
